The European Union Deforestation Regulation delay offers businesses a brief reprieve, but TrusTrace’s new automated deforestation tool helps to ensures companies can meet sustainability demands with ease.

TrusTrace has revealed its advanced Deforestation Compliance Solution, developed to streamline supply chain compliance and align products with the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR). With enforcement of the EUDR postponed until December 30, 2025, brands now have a critical window to align their supply chains with new expectations. The regulation requires businesses to ensure materials like rubber, wood, and leather entering the E.U. do not contribute to deforestation or environmental degradation.

Despite the delay, businesses must act fast to avoid last-minute issues with customs clearance. “For businesses, navigating the complexities of EUDR is daunting; they are under immense pressure to produce granular traceability data, which makes compliance practices challenging since they need to integrate new processes into existing frameworks,” said Shameek Ghosh, CEO and Co-Founder of TrusTrace. “This is where our new Deforestation Compliance Solution comes into play. It is designed to seamlessly integrate into the existing processes, ensuring that EU-bound products in the brand’s supply chain are compliant with EUDR requirements.”

Designed through partnerships with industry giants and validated to meet real-world challenges, the TrusTrace solution offers shipment-level tracking and automates previously cumbersome compliance processes. Brands can send bulk data collection requests, run real-time geospatial analyses, and instantly generate due diligence documents, thanks to the platform’s integration with OpenAtlas’s state-of-the-art geospatial technology.

The platform encourages users to pursue Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification throughout their supply chains. Material sourced from FSC-certified forests aligns with EUDR’s sustainability mandates, offering brands peace of mind when sourcing from certified regions. As Ghosh emphasized, the TrusTrace platform not only ensures compliance with the EUDR but provides a foundation to meet multiple regulatory demands worldwide. “TrusTrace’s proprietary data collection framework for risk and compliance enables companies to leverage the data collected across regulations. This means that they have the data foundation in place to easily comply with current and future demands, without the need for multiple individual solutions,” Ghosh said.

The new solution offers businesses several distinct advantages. Shipment-level traceability allows brands to map farms and collect essential data, such as GPS coordinates and FSC certificates, for each E.U.-bound product. This feature ensures smooth customs clearance and full visibility of product origins. Users can also assess compliance risks precisely by benchmarking country-level risks and cross-referencing satellite imagery from OpenAtlas. TrusTrace’s intuitive compliance dashboard provides continuous monitoring, equipping businesses to identify and address risks in real-time.

Generating due diligence statements is now faster and more efficient with automated tools. The platform can create pre-formatted compliance reports for seamless submission to the European Commission through API integration. Moreover, TrusTrace offers policy support, regulatory updates, and supplier training to ensure smooth data sharing across every touchpoint in the supply chain.

Although the EUDR is the current focus, businesses will face additional regulatory shifts in the coming years. Laws like the U.K. Environment Act and the U.S. Lacey Act are undergoing amendments that could impact supply chain operations. TrusTrace aims to help brands stay ahead of these evolving requirements. “With our cutting-edge technology solutions and partner network, we are uniquely positioned to help brands achieve full supply chain visibility and meet global compliance standards,” Ghosh noted.
