Fig Leaf Bourbon Sour

Share

This aromatic and flavorful fig leaf bourbon sour from The Vedge Bar Book: Plant-Based Cocktails and Light Bites for Inspired Entertaining by Kate Jacoby and Rich Landau gets its frothiness from aquafaba.

Our local fig trees are bursting at the seams in late summer, and in this cocktail we proudly flaunt their leaves. You read that right: The abundant fruits are great eaten fresh or preserved, but the leaves, too, have culinary uses. With a distinctive grassy and slightly nutty flavor, the leaves, much like bay or lime leaves, can add nuance to your cooking and cocktailing. – Ginevra Reiff
