Stella McCartney reunites with Jeff Koons for a Spring 2026 collectors’ capsule that revisits two decades of shared creative history, art-world references, and ethical materials.
Stella McCartney is returning to one of fashion’s most enduring creative dialogues. Launching today, the Stella McCartney x Jeff Koons limited-edition collectors capsule revisits a collaboration that has threaded through the designer’s career for two decades. The new release arrives alongside the house’s Spring 2026 collection and leans into the codes that have long defined McCartney’s work: ethical materials, art-world fluency, humor, and a refusal to separate seriousness from play.
The capsule centers on collectible ready-to-wear and accessories rendered in organic cotton and Responsible Wool Standard-certified wool. At its core is an organic cotton T-shirt first shown on McCartney’s Winter 2025 runway, now reintroduced with Koons’ Untitled (Girl with Dolphin and Monkey) artwork layered against McCartney’s Slippery When Wet slogan, pulled from her inaugural 2001 collection. Model Amelia Gray fronts the campaign, grounding the capsule in a contemporary fashion context while signaling its archival reach.

Additional pieces extend the conversation. Two tank tops, a hoodie, and a classic tee are joined by a chunky turtleneck knit, each produced in limited quantities and available for a selected time only. New graphic moments include an updated Doggy Style message paired with canine artworks drawn from Koons’ 1991 Made in Heaven series, specifically illustrations of his Yorkshire Terrier and Poodle sculptures, personally selected by McCartney.
Select items deepen the collectible dimension: A scaled-down reinterpretation of Koons’ iconic Rabbit sculpture appears as a platinum bracelet pendant, released in a limited number and available exclusively by appointment at Stella McCartney’s SoHo boutique. Other pieces, signed by both the designer and the artist, are offered only at the brand’s New York store, each individually customized with lead-free crystals, fringing, and hand-applied detailing. An additional edit of hand-signed Koons T-shirts will be available online at stellamccartney.com.
A history of collaboration
This capsule is a continuation; McCartney and Koons first collaborated for the designer’s Summer 2006 collection, when prints from Koons’ Easy Ethereal series, including Lips, Stream, and Pink Bow, appeared as kaleidoscopic gowns on the runway, a moment cementing McCartney at the intersection of art and fashion. In 2005, the pair also released a platinum Rabbit pendant, establishing an early precedent for art objects translated into wearable form.
Beyond Koons, collaboration has been central to McCartney’s brand architecture. Her 2005 and 2025 partnerships with H&M marked the first time the fast-fashion retailer worked with a luxury designer, a turning point for high-low collaborations across the industry. McCartney’s long-running relationship with Adidas, launched in 2005 and still ongoing, reframed performance wear through a fashion lens while advancing the use of recycled polyester and bio-based materials. More recently, McCartney’s work with Disney, including capsule collections inspired by Fantasia and other animated classics, demonstrated how intellectual property could be reinterpreted through ethical luxury without dilution of brand values.

The Stella McCartney x Jeff Koons capsule will be available beginning January 26, 2026, as part of the Spring 2026 collection, with select pieces offered exclusively in New York and online for a limited time.
