You Can Wear This Shirt for 100 Days Before Washing It

The era of self-washing clothes is upon us with HercLéon’s newest collection.

Wen Muenyi’s Minnesota label HercLéon, has introduced a groundbreaking innovation in the apparel industry: a laundry-free clothing line. This development is set to change how consumers approach daily wear, offering garments that can be worn repeatedly without requiring frequent washing.

By utilizing advanced materials like copper ion polyester and carbon-infused polyester, the company says it has created a fabric that not only reduces the environmental impact of laundry but also maintains high standards of hygiene and comfort.

The unique properties of HercLéon’s clothing include anti-odor and anti-bacterial features, which keep the garments fresh even after prolonged use. “With enough love and creativity, we can create a planet that enables us to live the most magnificent life imaginable with minimal pollution or waste,” Muenyi said in a statement.

The flagship product in this new line is the HercShirt 3.0, touted as the world’s cleanest shirt. Made from a blend of beechwood, copper, and Spandex, this shirt can be worn for more than 100 days without a single washing.

The shirt’s laundry-free design doesn’t exempt it from big messes such as food spills, and its delicate fabric requires pre-washing to remove oil-based stains. It is also not recommended for intense physical activities due to the potential reaction of the copper content with sweat. But for normal wear such as to the office, HercLéon says the shirt can be worn 100 times with no need for laundering.

The label has also introduced HercSocks, designed to combat the common issue of stinky and wet socks. These socks, made with HercFiber material, are light, stretchy, and resistant to odor. While they are not as warm as traditional socks and less self-cleaning than the shirts, they offer a comfortable and hygienic alternative for everyday wear.

Additionally, the company has launched Jax Sheets for Men, the first bed sheets specifically designed to maintain freshness over extended periods. These sheets are tailored to address the unique sleep needs of men, blending data from extensive research with advanced textile technology. The Jax Sheets are available in multiple sizes and colors and come in different material options optimized for hygiene, comfort, and seasonal use.

HercLéon, founded by Muenyi in 2017, initially gained attention with the Apollo shirt, which could be worn for more than a year without washing due to odors. The company has since expanded its product line to include bedding and now focuses on enhancing the quality of sleep and daily comfort. HercLéon’s mission is to improve people’s lives by 10 to 15 percent through its innovative textile solutions, with a vision that everyone will eventually experience the unmatched comfort of HercLéon products, whether at home or in other environments around the globe.
