Kora Organics Founder Miranda Kerr Is All About Healthy Skin. That’s Why She Eats Plants.

Supermodel and KORA Organics founder Miranda Kerr gets her healthy skin from her beauty line, but a plant-based diet and some other wellness habits play a big part, too.

Miranda Kerr is in the beauty business in a big way as a model and the entrepreneur behind the organic beauty brand KORA Organics. But for her, beauty is more than just about looking good—it’s about being healthy.

In a recent Body+Soul podcast interview, Kerr shared her healthy skin secrets and tips with Healthy-ish host Felicity Harley.

“I think that when you’re healthy, it kind of radiates through your skin,” Kerr said. So she starts with a clean and healthy diet.

A healthy skin diet

“One thing that I’ve been doing for the last couple of years that I have really noticed has made big difference in my skin is starting every morning with thirty two ounces of water, just room temperature, filtered water and I add one lemon and I drink that,” she said.

Kerr says after the water she drinks 32 ounces of celery juice, which can take several hours to get it all down. Celery is known for its calming benefits to the digestive tract. Then “every day without fail” she makes a detox smoothie.

“[It] has blueberries, bananas, fresh orange juice, spirulina and barley grass in there. So you’re getting your natural proteins,” she says.

The rest of her diet is predominantly plant-based.

“I just have lots of fresh fruits and veggies for lunch and dinner including like spinach, cucumber, tomatoes. I love potatoes and I love to air fry them. That is an obsession of mine,” she says.

“They’re so nutrient packed—and potatoes have actually been instrumental in healing my gut health, believe it or not,” she says.

B12 supplements and lemon balm extract help the mother of three and busy entrepreneur keep her stress levels in check.

Wellness routines

Kerr is also a fan of Wim Hof, the Dutch motivational speaker and extreme athlete who plunges into freezing cold water in what he believes promotes health and longevity. Kerr says it helps her skin, too.

“Another thing that’s really great for your skin is cold and hot therapy. So like the Wim Hof method of either the breathing or the cold therapy that he does,” she says.

“Even try at the end of your shower, having like a very cold burst. If you can go up to one or two minutes, that’s great.”

When it comes to the heat side of things, Kerr uses a sauna blanket.

“I have that sauna blanket and I like to just jump on in. Sometimes I’m in the kid’s playroom, I’m in there and the kids are playing because now I’ve got an almost two year old and three year old and a 10 year old. So if I’ve got them in one room, I can then, get in that little sauna for like 15 minutes, with my head poking out.”

She’ll also use Gua Sha massage—a Chinese medicine treatment that applies pressure to the skin to promote circulation.

“If I wake up in the morning and I’m a little bit puffy or if I have to be on camera, I love to give myself a Gua Sha massage after it’s been in the cold fridge with the Rose Quartz Heart Facial Sculptor and it just kind of eliminates that puffiness and gets the blood flow going,” Kerr says.

The Kora founder shared her morning and evening routine, which features a number of KORA Organics vegan skincare products.
