Tom Brady Is Launching a Sustainable Clothing Brand for Men

Share

The NFL quarterback legend Tom Brady is launching a sustainable eponymous clothing brand.

Expected to launch later this year, the Brady menswear range is aiming big; the brand has pulled in co-founder Jens Grede and designer Dao-Yi Chow to develop the line, which has been in the works for three years.

Grede brings pop culture fashion to the partnership having build his wife Emma’s Good American denim range with Khloé Kardashian, as well as Kim Kardashian West’s Skims lingerie, and the Frame men’s and women’s brand.

Chow cofounded the streetwear label Public School New York. He also designed with DKNY, and served as creative director of Italian heritage sportswear brand Sergio Tacchini.

‘Highly engineered’

According to the Brady brand, the collections will use “advanced fabrications and more sustainable practices to create an intelligently designed and highly engineered collection for optimal performance on and off the field.”

Brady’s first two collections, Train and Live, will launch on Brady-brand.com in December.

The seven-time Super Bowl winner is no stranger to fashion—he’s married to supermodel Gisele Bündchen and has worked with a number of designers over the years as a spokesperson.

Brady says it’s aiming to be as recognizable as Michael Jordan’s Nike collab that came to redefine shoes: Air Jordans. The 44-year-old quarterback recently said he may play another year or two in the NFL; the Brady clothing line would be his next focus.

Sustainable family

Sustainability is a core ethos for the Bündchen-Brady household. Last year, for her 40th birthday, Brazilian Bündchen helped to plant 40,000 trees in the Amazon rainforest to celebrate the milestone.

Earlier this year, Brady partnered with Cloos on a line of biodegradable sunglasses.

“Christopher Cloos’ commitment to health, wellness, and sustainability–without sacrificing style–really resonated with me,” Brady said in May. “I love their commitment to excellence and discipline to make things happen. I’m proud of the partnership and what we have been able to create together with the Cloos x Brady collection. Not to mention I love wearing them and hope everyone will too!”

The quarterback has also embraced a predominantly plant-based diet, partnering with vegan meal kit company Purple Carrot, and launching his own range of vegan products under the TB12 label.
