A new circular fashion initiative launching in the U.K. will simplify steps in the resale market for leading brands including Pangaia and The North Face.

Archive, a technology platform for branded resale, has announced a strategic partnership with Advanced Clothing Solutions (ACS), a U.K.-based leader in circular fashion logistics. This collaboration aims to revolutionize the lifecycle of apparel and footwear by offering comprehensive services including cleaning, repair, and the fulfillment of secondhand items on a dedicated resale marketplace. This initiative promises to enhance the efficiency and profitability of brands transitioning to circular business models.

Emily Gittins, CEO and co-founder of Archive, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership’s potential to facilitate the adoption and expansion of circular business models in the U.K., praising ACS for its innovative approach and commitment to transforming the fashion sector. “They are true leaders and innovators with a passion for transforming the fashion industry, and we look forward to deepening our partnership over time,” Gittins said in a statement.

Under this partnership, ACS will leverage Archive’s advanced resale operations technology. This integration will facilitate a streamlined process for brands to manage their resale offerings, ensuring that items are accurately identified, conditioned, photographed, priced, and, if necessary, cleaned or repaired before being listed for sale. Furthermore, items that cannot be resold will be directed towards recycling or donation, aligning with the partners’ commitment to sustainability.

Echoing this sentiment, Andrew Rough, CEO of ACS, highlighted the significance of the partnership as a milestone in the resale journey, poised to catalyze change within the U.K. fashion industry. “This marks a pivotal moment in our resale journey. We consider this to be a game-changer for the U.K. fashion sector and we look forward to what we’ll be able to achieve together,” Rough anticipates the onboarding of additional fashion brands to the pre-loved resale market.

The collaboration has already attracted notable brands such as The North Face and Pangaia, signaling the growing interest and investment in sustainable fashion practices among leading industry players. These brands represent the initial participants in the U.K. market, with expectations to expand the model to include more brands eager to tap into the burgeoning pre-loved resale market. By streamlining the resale process and supporting brands in their circular initiatives, this collaboration sets a new standard for the integration of eco-friendly practices in fashion retail.
